My ex used to say it all the time. I would reply with, "what did you just say?" and he would look innocent and say, "I said whatever you want dear."
 At this point, I just had to say, "Whatever!"

Have you-all had anyone reply to you with this word?? or, used it yourself?? (Just this past three months it has really caught on here in New Mexico.) I have noticed a few changes in people ,in general--being more rude to others. Have you-all noticed?? New? geesh we were sayin 'whatever' back in my Valley days in Cali .. Rude???? Not really .. just not willing to be dragged into long convos or useless explanations .. IMHO
