what
Lately I have been thinking ALOT about an ex. That's the reason I joined here, to get in contact with him. We didn't end on very good terms but we did have alot of great times together. He was a big part of my life for a long time.(FYI I am very happy in my current relationship) More than anything I really miss him as a friend. Is it wrong for me to keep trying to make contact?

If you are "very happy" why is he on your mind to the extent you would join here to get in touch with him? I think that is the question you should ask yourself. flowerforyou

Well to answer some of those questions. He is recently divorced and I am worried about him. He hasn't had much luck when it comes to relationships. He was a really good friend before we got serious.

I think you should try to contact him, just to check on him and let him know you're there for him...as a friend !

If he is recently divorced and you seek him out to help him, you are putting him and yourself in a very difficult situation. Only you know if this is a good idea, but the possibility that both of you will begin to fall in love again is very high. Be careful.

I have to agree with this statement, you are putting yourself in that position to fall in love again with him.

That depends on how he's reacted to it. If he's interested in a friendship, then great. If he's not interested in pursuing continued contact with you, then you need to let it go, hard though that may be.

I think, sometimes, it's just best to move on

I really have to agree with this comment here - sometimes you have to really leave the past in the past. If you're happy - stay happy and let him do his own thing - find his own way. I'm guessing he's a grown up and can handle himself. If you jump back in the mix it might be more than he needs right now.

Anyway - just my opinion.

Good luck in whatever you decide! flowerforyou

Consider carefully how this will affect your current relationship.

How would your current man answer your question?

I'm curious how good of friends you could really be if you lost contact with him and have to find him like this. Just a curiosity. flowerforyou

It ended badly between us and I am the one who stopped talking to him. I thought we'd be better off. I guess I miss talking to him. He helped me through some really hard times before. He has a way of cheering you up no matter what. I think that's what I miss most. My fiance' is fine with me trying to get in touch. One of his ex's turned out to be a great family friend. I think I was hoping he would too. Wishful thinking I guess.
