Ok as parents of young children... stuff happens! For example, last nite when I went to take my son out of the shower; he decided to write on the tub and shower walls with gray crayon... ggrrrrrrrrr....... so I'll be scrubbing with bleach scrub tonight to get it off.
A couple years ago, my son decided to paint the walls and himself with white-out correction fluid. Oh my! I called poison control to find out what will take it off his skin. Vegetable oil, go figure! So I guess I am starting this thread to let parents vent a little and share tips! |

It wouldn't be a signature of a child if they didn't write on walls. My oldest scribbled on my wallpaper, when told not to do that.. he decided at a later time to get underneath of my dining room table and scribble, of course I never noticed that until we moved. Sometimes I don't think those tub paint crayons were such a good idea.
He also decided (when down for a nap) that his goldfish in his fish tank wanted to play and needed cleaning.. he climbed up onto his big dresser and was able to reach the decorative soaps(rocking horse/teddy bear) that I had up there.. he dropped those, along with his hotwheel cars into the fish tank. Later when I went into the room I wondered why the fish tank was all cloudy.. only a few fish survived. |

my son was 4 and was dared by his 5 yr old sister to put a Coco Puff up his nose, except my little Einstein put one up each side and couldn't breath. I was very young and started freaking out, so we went to the Emergency room.
Well after about 5 minutes of listening to the doctor laugh and finaly told me to use the "crunch and blow" method. I didn't understand at first and then it hit me smooch the puff and blow it out! Kids do and say the darnest things!! |

I love the bathtub crayons... my son really got to practice writing names and words, and before that... letters.
The other thing is to buy chalkboard paint.... paint a section of wall, or just a piece of fiberboard and lean it on the wall, and get some chalk. That way there can be art, but only in places where it's okay. My son once found the toilet bowl cleaner (it was blue) and dumped it in the tub. We used to buy these colored bath fizzies, and he must've thought the cleaner was similar. It smelled fresh and sorta minty too. This all happened while I was downstairs putting away some things, and was gone about five minutes. He was four and a very good swimmer.... but still managed to scare me to death. I pulled him out, drained the water, and rinsed his little body down. He assured me he did not drink any and his mouth was not blue.... but still. |

My son use to like to stick things in holes-electric outlets, door knobs, car door locks, sink drains, tub drains, cats butt, and so on.

My second born must be a natural chemist dare devil. She gets into SO MUCH and is so sneaky about it. She, too, thought nothing of doing "wall art" when she was younger!!!

I bought some glitter glue for my daughter when she was 4 years old to make Christmas ornaments. Well, she decided that she wanted to make her hair sparkly and pretty so she put the glitter glue in her hair. It was sparkly alright. But it took forever to wash it out of her hair.

My son got a sharpie one day and colored a handlebar moustache on his face... huge and dark. It took days to come off, even with make-up remover.

oh my! I am glad that as parents we can come together after the fact and laugh about the messes and 'art' that our children decided to create!
