Seems like I am becoming the most hated person on here. But hey that is OK, everybody is entitled to there own opinion.

You know that I have never had a problem with you Ron.flowerforyou

Whisper, we're just commenting our opinions...it doesn't mean anything about whether or not we hate you, or even dislike you. It's just our opinion and even if it disagrees with yours it doesn't mean anything about our impression of you.

Cheers. drinker

The lawyer in me would kill me if I didn't say it: You don't have a legal right to say anything you want on a privately owned internet forum. The right against the infringement of free speech concerns only laws passed by Congress relevant to public places. And even that right is tempered by many exceptions.

Cheers to the restricted, but glorious, ability to say stupid things on someone else's website. drinker

Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they hate you.

Sometimes random conversations are the best. They can wind up being funny, informative, passionate, etc. Or a combination of all of them.

If you're unhappy with a particular topic started, simply don't participate in it. If you'd like to have a conversation of importance, start a provocative topic.

Honestly though, I have no right to free speech on this site. I would have a right to say that outside at a reasonable decibel level during a reasonable time of the day, but not here on this site. Everything on this site is simply a privilege granted by the owners.

Also, Voltaire wasn't an American so the quote, although noble and eloquent, doesn't quite fit American politics...particularly since most in the government don't feel that way.

Whisper, if it makes you feel any better, I share the minority opinion that many of the posts here are pointless, spark no discussion, and are posted only because the poster feels the need to be the center of attention on the boards.

When I click on a thread in the general discussion forum, I expect to find a topic for discussion. Not an emoticon, or a single word, or someone saying something inane. Keep that in the chit chat forum. I think people don't understand what the word "topic" means, apparently.

I would like to throttle that stupid dancing banana.

Otherwise the emoticons dont bother me. I see it as sort of a way of saying 'i'm reading this thread and enjoying the show'
