wasp spray. best time to spray is first thing in the morning just before the sun comes up. I did spray...all it did was piss them off more. I can't actually see the nest...so I can't get a direct hit. |

If you have a wet/dry vacuum, take the top off, and empty it. Then, get an extension cord, so that the vacuum will reach the nest. Pour a whole can of wasp killer into the can, making sure to cover your face. Put the top back on the vacuum, and turn it on. Then, just put the hose end as close to the nest as you can, and wait a few hours. I had a nest of bees that filled the vac about 6 or 7 inches deep. It does work.

Got a coffee maker? lol, heat water, put dish washing liquid in a large pitcher, make it hot. Pour it on them at night, as some have suggested. The hot water will knock them down, the soap will stick to them. Wasps are exo skeletal, meaning they breath through their "skin". The dried soap will suffocate them. You may have to try several times before you hit the nest, but it will work without damaging your shrubs. Rinse the shrubs with a good blast of water from a garden hose the next day. This will also work on fire ants btw. |
