Well, my daughter has 12 more days before her first day of school. I've gotten every thing she needs as far as supplies go. I'm trying to get her back on a normal sleep schedule because she'll be getting back up at 6am again to catch the bus at 7am. And trust me, she is not a morning person!

The schools are considering going to 4 days a week to save on gas starting 1 hour earlier and staying one hour later. I so hope they don't do it cause I think it would be just to much for the kids that have to ride the bus. We got some kids that catch the bus as early as 6:30am just to make it to school on time and not to mention some kids including mine wouldn't be getting home til 5pm or later.

So any one else getting their kids ready for school?

I'm doing the same with my daughter. They start back on the 27th here.
Mine is not a morning person either. I didn't know that a 6 yr.old could gripe so much.laugh
Mine has to get up at 6am also. Unless I take her. Then she can sleep till 7.
I try to take her as much as possible. That extra hour of sleep cuts down on the griping a lot.

My daughter graduated in June. This summer we have been getting ready for a different first day - she leaves Tuesday for Parris Island, SC. She will be there for 3 months - USMC boot camp.

This is a bad time to go there. The hottest part of the summer is coming and the mosquitoes down there are the size of a small jet and just about as fast.
I wish her well and good luckflowerforyou

So glad I'm not living in SC right now. And just think I was considering moving there a while back. Good luck to her at boot camp!

And Merlin good luck with the "not a morning person". Mine's been going to school since pre-k and I still haven't figured out a way to get her to wake up at least half-way in a good mood, lol.
