A poetic tongue tells her story
The words drip with emotion she hides deep inside Anonymous hearts break Sorrow taints even the happy memories False strength is stuffed into the lines Her pen a mighty sword Will someday slaughter the grief Invisible tears she refuses to cry Can plainly be seen in one simple word -Goodbye One sunrise at a time She stumbles on Muted lips speak volumes Anger and confusion have left permanent stains An artists mind tells the truth about what is always denied She wants to be held To be needed as before Only her paper knows that For it is the keeper of all memories Trapped for all eternity like flies in a spiders' web Some good, Most horrible A dancing pen speaks of courage Little do they know that courage has been gone for some time now Only the eyes of the heart can read that. Betrayed by talent, what little she has Poetic words tell the true story Because it will not pass muted lips Only bits and garbled pieces No one would understand anyway A young heart was lost to hatred And so Late at night she cries Not tears But broken dreams Fear posses anger so it can hide “It'll get better” they keep promising Yet each night she cries No one will ever restore her broken dreams A wall has been constructed to protect her mangled heart To repair her dreams one must get close Friendship and love are unwanted Because death is the knife that severs loved ones from her life Too many times its boasted of victory No one would take the time to slowly chip pieces of that wall away So, broken dreams will just keep falling No one ever sees them By morning they're gone As the moon washes the world in soft white light they return She calls upon her pen again Pent up emotions ramble on A silent voice screams the truth |
