The Grasshopper Who Walked

There was an ant walking a field, when he came upon a strange sight. He saw a brown grasshopper, walking, instead of hopping through the fields.

He asked, "Why aren't you hopping along like the rest of your grasshopping friends?"

The grasshopper looked over to the ant and said, "I like to enjoy life and the things I see around it."

"What ever do you mean?" The ant was confused.

"Well you see, if I hopped around the field like my own kind, then I would be missing some of the things that they don't see. I like to walk around and enjoy the sights and see what I could have missed." The grasshopper explained.

"Hmmmm...I think I see where you're going with this." The ant was rubbing his chin in thought.

"You see, you ants forage around, in preparation for winter. You find bits of food to store and you get things to build your nests. So you take your time and see the things around you. That's what I want to do. I want to enjoy life and see things, that otherwise would zip by me, if I hopped." With further explanation, the grasshopper expressed.

"I see now." The ant thought with the grasshoppers theory. "So in other words, if you hop as high as you grasshoppers hop, that part that you zipped over, was just a blur and you missed it."

"Now you understand." As the grasshopper continued his walk with the ant by his side.

The moral of the story: Slow down and enjoy life. For what you miss, may be something you needed to prepare for.
