They say you should let a female have one litter before being fixed. I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard it.

I remember having Evil fixed. That guy went from being a happy running around cat, to a cat that just sat and looked out the window. Ali was the one that picked him up from the vet. He was never nice to my sister in law again.

Who says that?

Both my cats are neutered. Both play and run around all the time.

Don't get me wrong, of all my pets, Evil is still my favorite. He was a descent lap-cat after getting nuetered. He also started riding in cars after that, as long as he could get in through the garage. He busted out the front door on me once when he was a kitten. Saw a semi, ran back to the house and never went out the front door again.

However, while he liked to ride in cars, he insisted on driving.

This pic is one of the last I have of Littlebit, my forever friend. She was 3 months shy of her 18th birthday when she died- She was the best dog that ever lived, the best friend I've ever had, and I miss her every single day.

So sorry hon! flowerforyou

I've been doing a lot of thinking about it and have come to the conclusion that one unique reason they are so hard to lose is that they offer the most unconditional love we can ever experience in our lives.

My grandma used to say there was a special place in heaven for people who treated animals kindly. I believe dogs were sent here to be examples to us. They play when they're happy, love unconditionally, fight for what's important to them, sleep when they're tired, are never afraid to show love to those who are good to them, never forget a kindness, and would unhesitatingly lay down their lives in defense of those they love. Too bad more of us aren't like that.........

We had a pet fox, Dakota Gold, she was so beautiful and friendly. All the neighbors loved her. I miss her. She use to curl up in my lap and watch tv with me.

Do you think its wrong to Neuter your Petspock Maybe if you had to give them up, and wasnt sure about their next owner, but what other reason is good enough to do thatspock

i encourage people to neuter and spay their pets because unless the person is a licensed dog breeder, pets will mate and have unwanted litters and then you get stray dogs running around.this country has a big problem with strays right now because of that

so yes,i think it's great to neuter/spay your pets

I always thought getting your pet spayed or neutured was a responsible thing to do...

then I became a foster parent for a few non-kill recue organizations.. and BAM! I came to KNOW it was incredibly important.

If you are not planning/hoping to get a litter from your pet.. it should be done as soon as they are old enough. AND... when a female is not spayed their risk of getting cancer is EXTREMELY likely. I had to put down a female beagle that I rescued because of this.

My local SPCA will NOT allow any adoptions unless the owner to be signs a contract stating they WILL get the pet spayed/neutured (if it is not already).

Just watched the news, a women in bucks county has been arrested on 75 counts of cruelty to animals. She had 75 cats living in her 1 bedroom apartment. Authorities say the feces, filth, trash and other items were knee deep that they used shovels to remove it in order to get in the apartment. None of the cats were spayed or neutered.

Why are people so cruel? If you can not take can of the animals at least try to find a nice home for these poor animals. Stuff like this pisses me off.
