Yo fear!!
If you like violence and gore and some puzzles in the mix then try Condemned 2!!smokin

If you like FPS then Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare!!

If you are up to a bit of Indiana jones/tomb raider then try Uncharted: Drakes fortune!!

For a cool return to childhood experience look no further than Rachet and Clank: Tools of destruction.

For mindless racing and crashing: Burnout paradise!!smokin

There is also Oblivion. A mammoth game that is full of quests and battles. Say goodbye to your social life for a few months. Its massive!!!!!!!!!!

My reccomendation: Call of duty 4: Modern warfare!

Thanks lad! Already have Call of Duty 4, played the first Condemned is the second one any better as that one moved far too slowly for me. Was thinking about Burnout Paradise but from what I hear they won't be getting bikes until a patch is released (August or abouts there), heard quite a bit about Oblivion. How is Uncharted Drakes Fortune?

I enjoyed condemned 2 moreso than part 1. It does still move a little slow but the action with the guns is much better and more intense.
Maybe a rent before buying!! The graphics is very good especially when they are splattered across a 32" HDTV!! Longevity about 12 hours on your first go on the normal difficulty setting!! The plot is good!!

I have no news on the bike patch for burnout paradise but a great game even without!!

Oblivion is massive. You need a lot of time on your hands but very good value for money!!

Uncharted is good once you get into it. But dont expect anything original!!

I find the overall quality of ps3 titles a big letdown compared to the 360. It will improve.

Resistance fall of man is a good shooter but in honesty it looks like a high end ps2 game!!
Haze is short and suffers from predictability and repetiviness!!

So with all that in mind, I reccomend either burnout or condemned 2!!! But I love violence and gore so maybe you should opt for burnout or uncharted!!!!!!

A little fav of mine on the ps3 was medal of honor airborne. I feel that the industry underated this game alot. Its no call of duty 4 beater but a close second in my opinion!!
So if you enjoyed COD4 maybe check it out!!!!
But I warn you, it can be tough in places!!

Yea I rented Haze...pretty crap game compared to what it could of been, especially with the graphics engine it uses. I was looking at Grid or DiRT as they look amazing, but I'm not sure about the gameplay. Resistance is claimed to be a spot title by many, but I'm with you on it...just doesn't seem to fully use the graphic capability of the PS3. I'm waiting on Manhunt 2, you know of any news on when that is hitting us? Really awaiting any Rockstar release as they tend to be the greatest with the graphics and very nice with gore.smokin

Grid is very good but it is not a sim like previous titles from the codemaster stable! It is arcade. It is short but the presentation, engine roar (you can really feel the power) and graphics is spot on. Some tracks look a little brown whilst others are amazing. It takes a little while to get used to the handling but give it time and it becomes great!! If I was showing the ps3 off to a few guys then I would shove in Grid!!
I completed it in three days but it was 18 hour day sittings for the most part!!It incorparates all aspects of racing. Circuit , street and drift!
Dirt is meant to be amazing but i do not like the handling of rally sims!! It is just me!!

Resistance 2 will be with you guys in the US about november. Should be good!!

On Manhunt 2, the last I heard was that rockstar North was persuing legal action to get it released. It is in trouble. It may never be released. Unfortunately as Manhunt is one of my favourite games. I love it that much I own it on ps2 and xbox.
I hope it does get a release but expect it to come with an adult rating (identification needed)and toned down from original inception.
I will investigate more on this and post back soon!!

FEAR you are from America. Is manhunt 2 not already out there.

This source from the UK suggest it is. It is dated from March. Check neighbouring states!!

There is no set date for us in Ireland yet!! If ever!!

I guess it was released, quietly I suppose in '07. Released with an AO rating, taken off shelves and re-released with an M rating...shame Rockstar, just shame.frown

Oh and it is only out for PS2, Wii, and PSP...so no shot on that one either, checking out Condemned 2 right now but it is rather slow moving for me. Also went ahead and rented Burnout Paradise, they really took out the fun in the wrecks with the showtime mode...still fun just to randomly run into some vehicles though.happy

I'm pretty sure Resistance was released around the same time the PS3 came out, hence why most of the graphics features of the PS3 aren't used with that (too new at the time), but it's still a good shooter none the less, IMO.

I just picked up Heavenly Sword a couple of days ago and got NFS:Carbon yesterday. NFS was a huge upgrade from the PS2 version. Too bad they never ported NFS:MW to PS3 though... Way better than Carbon, IMO.
