Willing2, I know full well the spectrum of jobs that illegal Mexicans generally perform. What I'm saying is that yes, those jobs would open up to Americans who need them, but Americans expect to be paid a lot more than Mexicans for doing the same job. Suddenly dumping all the Mexicans and hiring Americans in their place would greatly increase the price of those services, almost to prohibitive levels. Now you might not care about a price difference, but those of us who aren't well off do.

Oklahoma had that same fear when they passed their Immigration law and it has been proved unsubstantiated. American workers have taken the jobs that were abandoned by the Illegal and the transition has been rather painless.

We are talking about Illegals, not Legal workers, God Bless them.

I find it a bit absurd in the rationalization that it's ok to break the law if you're only doing it to better your situation.

The H-2B visas are for Agriculture industries. The number is set by the industry.
If a farmer says he needs 200 workers to pick tomatoes he will get 200 H-2B workers.
If a shrimp processing plant says they need 2000 workers to process shrimp they will get 2000 workers.
Their is a waiting list for H-2B visas. Plenty who are willing to come to the US and work legally!

There is a catch though. The employees can not be exploited. The farmer must provide adequate shelter and access to medical care. They also can not have a criminal record in their country of origin.

Illegal immigration serves no purpose except in taking jobs Americans are willing to do and enabling their employers to exploit them. It also allows the criminal elements to come in.

By being here illegally the employer can bypass the regulations requiring them to provide housing and medical care.
By being here illegally they cant complain, because they are criminals.

By supporting illegal immigration you are becoming an accessory, not only to harboring a fugitive, but an accessory to slave labor!
By supporting illegal immigration you are spitting in the face of every immigrant that comes here legally.
The US leads the world in the number of LEGAL immigrants allowed to enter our country.
