This poem is from lyrics to a song I wrote about a good friend of mine
who died when he was 18 yrs. old.It has a very deep meaning for me & my
friends. I actually had this one published in a book called Timeless
Mysteries back in 2001.I'm quite sure everyone can pretty much relate to
this ode.

HEARTFELT

When we met so long ago

we were so young and innocent

Those are the days I will never forget

I still remember where our days were spent

We had no worries back in those days

We use to hang out and have a good time

We all learned and grew up together

I'm proud to say you were a friend of mine

Our hearts weep and our eyes cry

I don't know why you had to die

Our eyes sob and our hearts ache

The Lord chose your soul to take

Years have now gone on by

And things have changed so much

My life continues to go on

But your memories keep me in touch

We all miss your smiling face

When I think of you I shed a tear

In losing you I lost a great friend

I don't know why life is so unfair
