Not yet (((Suzflowerforyou)))...didn't think it would be so difficult with so many schools in the district.

You would think not. I don't know about there but the schools here are so short-funded, I know they've cut back on hiring. Which is sad, I live in one of the best school district's in the country but they've cut out a lot, even summer school was cancelled.

Well the one principal I interviewed with seemed to think I would be able to pick and choose the school I'd like to work in...plus the fact that there aren't people waiting in line to do the kind of work I do...working with the severly disable children.

Well, I'm sure something'll turn up! That's an amazing thing, what you do. I was a foster mom for kids who couldn't be placed through normal channels, it's not easy working with these kids.

No it is not easy...and absolutely not for everyone. Most of the kids I have worked with in the last 9 yrs. don't even live with their biological families...either they cannot or choose not to care for their disabled child.

No, it's not for everyone, even I couldn't do it after a while. It took such an emotional toll on me, getting to love the kids then having them move on for whatever reason. I worked with a group that did short-term placements and I found I just couldn't stay as emotionally unattached as was necessary.
