More of our brave hero s have died, what horribly sad truth
Candidates just keep slinging mud,
They spend money on commercials no one cares to see.
Stupid promises all dressed up in pretty words,
None of it holds a lick of truth
Somewhere tonight a pregnant wife sits alone
Rubbing her belly cooing to the unborn miracle,
“Daddy will be home”
Prayers are getting endless
Families live by the news
Many have been torn apart
While the mud keeps flying
Somewhere someone is being presented with a folded flag
And with it come the words, “I'm sorry...”
Memorials are held
Pictures kept close
While the verbal punches are thrown
Someone is going to bed alone
Pick your side democrat or republican
Duke it out
Bash each other then giggle like schoolchildren
Flip on the television
Feel the anguish
Look!

Someone will sleep alone
