The dream snatcher
He’s a dream snatcher
A master in depleting
My reality
Took my mind piece by piece
And led me into oblivion
Making me forget me name
And from whence I came

The jester of my dreams
Deleted
Seated
In his lap
Were my hopes
Like rainbows
Filled with pots of gold
And love

The words jilted from my mouth
Like darts in a carnival game
Shooting strait towards his teddy bear heart
But he was no equal
And could see the sequel of my words

He drew lines and circles
In mid air
With a magic wand
Using smoke rope to
Choke the syllables
And fine lines to cut them off
In mid sentence

He'd ward off any attempts
And block any success of snagging him

He was never serious
And I became delirious
As he took away my will

Nonetheless he was only in it
For the thrill
I knew it
But still
Took part in his chivalry

Playing topsy turvy with my emotions
Like a yo-yo string
Tossing me out
And pulling me in
Just then
Before I could get close-enough
To touch
He’d toss me out
Then pull me in
Then toss me out again

My head began to spin
I felt the rush of confusion
Set in
As I twirled on the merry-go round of fate
I had a date
With chance

So I played the game and danced with him

Chasing him down dark hallways
Searching in haunted rooms
Losing myself in a quest
To grab hold
Of the Mirage
Was my doom

His scheme
His Scheme
Was to steal everything
Until I could dream no more

So now I spend my sleeping hours
AWAKE
too afraid
to fall asleep again. . . . . . . . . .. . . .Lest He'd steal my daydreams too!
