I'm just doing laundry for me and the machines at my apartments don't have small medium and large settings, so I usually mix everything to conserve water and money.

you seperate your colors from your whites? Towels from the rest of the wash?

The reason I ask is I was at a friends house the other day and she puts everything in all at once.

I have to have bleach in my whites.

I bleach my whites too .. and of course all my unmentionables are on ultra delicate, cold wash and no dryer.

oh ya babyyyyyyyyyyyy

and who wants towel lint on their clothes .. no thanks.

I also use a dark laundry soap for all my black clothes (which is 80% of my closet) because it locks in the dark colors.

And all my clothes are on delicate where my kids are not so much.

I separate everything

light from dark
towels by themselves
whites alone
if it says wash it by itself...
they mean it
I hate my clothes to be ruined

wouldn't put it all together
I like my clothing fresh and clean

towels/sock/underwear
whites/grays
darks/grays (the grays can go either way)
reds/oranges
jeans

i own mostly jeans and t shirts, so this might seem like overkill. i also hang everything to dry, only towels/socks/undies in the dryer

-Whites together (towels and otherwise) and they get a laundry deg. booster in with the laundry soap which MUST be Gain.
-Colors together
-Darks together (black and dark blues, etc.)
-Reds and any variations of reds together
-Comforters and big stuff gets washed about once a week and hung out to dry...mmmmmmm, smells so good to sleep on clean blankets!

I have been doing my own laundry since I was 18.

Whites-hot water and bleach
Jeans/towels
Shirts/light weight items
Same way in the dryer.
And do not leave it in the dryer.
Unless you just love to iron.noway

I do separate colors from whites and towels from the rest of the wash so the clothes don't get towel fuzz on them!
