I suppose since I'm 33 I should know whatever the heck this PCOS you guys keep talking about is... but I don't.

Anyway, when I took the depo provera shot it stopped my periods altogether, so if it's not any type of birth control that is in question, I agree with the others on it being some other type of hormonal imbalance and would ask my dr. about it.

PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It means you have a much higher possibility of ovarian cysts basically. Things don't exactly always work right. It can be managed with healthy diet and exercise, but makes conception and even carrying a healthy pregnancy to term quite difficult. If you ever DO get cysts, it then becomes PCOD, Polycystic Ovarian Disease.

having a period that lasts that short is not normal. Make an app with a gynocologist.what other signs?

I had PCOP...it was extremely painful...however it never had any effect on my ability to have children or carry them to term..Got 5 beautiful kids...

I think I would check with you doctor. My periods used to be like that, for years in fact and then one awful day it turned into the opposite and I passed out on the bathroom floor from blood loss..It was called Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding..I had a TCH and they found cancer in my cervix and uterus...It always best to ask your doc...Better safe then sorry

you can go through the menpause at any age, its rare to have that happen at your age, but some women do go through the menopause very early. blood tests will confirm if thats the case or not.

i have endometriosis, and its defintly not that, because you bleed like hell for 7 days every month or longer.

i was haviong hot sweats once and i thought i was going through the menopause very early and blood tests confirmed i wasnt, it was my pain relief causing the sweating.

is there any way you could be pregnant??

i would reccomend you go and see your doctor and get some tests done. please keep us updated, and goodluck.

I don't think for a second that its anything more than maybe stress or even change of environment messin with me. I'll start getting my pay checks regularly this week so I'll have a chance to maybe go to a doctor's office sometime in the near future. I was pretty stressed the last few months, that could have everything to do with it I suppose.

hmmm i guess i'm extremely weird then.....i have numerous cysts on both ovaries and been dealing with them for ten years now....my periods were very irregular and extremely light until after i had my daughter in 2002......since then, i'm more reliable than a calendar, but i have to take narcotic painkillers for the pain and i have to change tampers every hour on the hour....i don't just have a heavy flow....I FLOOD....to the point i stay weak the whole time....

Hmmm..

Regular Periods and PCOS are contra indicators...
You need to see and endocrinologist not a GP or OB/GYN.....
hormone problems can manifest in many ways....
do you have weight problems and excessive hair growth?

Don't lump us all together, some men do understand and don't think PMS is a joke. Women REALLY do have 'it' more difficult than men.

Thats so beside the point. Unless you have something to add to the conversation that is helpful, a man is unnecessary in this topic.

Please see the doc. Changes in your period can be caused by a number of factors.

If you don't have insurance contact you closest Planned Parenthood office. They can do a basic exam and may have some other resources they can offer you.

menopause doent just happen to women in their 40s...it can happen anytime...it isnt normal for it to happen so early, but it does so i dont think we should be ashamed of ourselves for asking...JMO

I can say I know its not prego....lol. For it to happen 4 times in a row? I will have to just hang in until I start making commission and my raises (not very far off at ALL, about 8 weeks til first raise and begin commission) so I can go see someone. NO, I do not have excessive hair growth...lol. You CAN have reg periods with PCOS if your weight is healthy, which mine is. I've had regular cycles since I was 20 and started working out. Since I have about 2 months before I can do anything anyway, I'll basically just watch my body and see what happens until then.
