Topic: I did a system restore and now it's worse | |
---|---|
I am using Windows XP and one of my computers was running really slow so I did a system restore. Now everything is all messed up. I can't even bring up the help and support or see my user accounts. Can anyone tell me why this happened and how I fix it?

get a mac Worst advice EVER. I work as an IT professional. I'd say find all your important documents/game save files/ pornography (if you have it) and put it all on a USB drive. Then wipe the harddrive clean and reinstall XP with all the updates, instal the programs and updates next. If it's an old computer you might need a driver update for your graphics card, wireless internet card, and sometimes audio driver. |

I just blew my 2TB Vista partition a week ago and can't get it to reinstall now. Apparently one of the patches/updates keeps breaking it. And for some reason it can't see any restore points after it breaks. Oh well. Good thing I kept XP alive and well on this partition... |

Undu system restore then do your maintainance wizard!!! Windows will fix itself usually. Thank you, finally some real advice. Dear, I don't know if that will help but it certainly won't hurt. I'm my pc's worst enemy sometimes and have learned from trial and error. They will fix themselves if you tell them to. |

system restore is suppose to help fix computer problems????? Yes I know. Everything with the computer is fine now. It just still won't bring up the help and support from the start menu and a few other items. It is running much faster now and all major files are still there. So I give up. |
