The book states that "in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth"? It does not state that god created it from ""nothing"".

- where do people get the idea that their god created everything from nothing?

To the best of my knowledge this isn't a religious idea.

By if we expend our thoughts to the beginning of everything ; something must have come from nothing : we go back..........to zero time . Of course that will include the one or ones who created humans and more . The complex issue with no answer is the fact that in science nothing can not create something let alone something as huge as the universe .

What makes you think the universe is huge? What are you comparing it to? We may all be very very small, existing in still a larger universe as a molecule or a computer chip.

Going from here to China or Australia is a huge area . Even if we are a chip in a more enormous universe , our universe is indeed very huge .
When you walk in the street : ask yourself where did all the objects you see come from ?.

Where they come from is the universal mind, but that has nothing to do with how large or small they are.

If you are using yourself (your physical body) as a frame of reference, then the universe is huge.

But what if this entire universe is just an atom in the body of a larger entity in a larger universe?

Or What if this universe is a holographic creation projected from a computer chip in someone's laptop computer in some other world?

Its all relative. Large and small are relative.
