as I look around the town and all the damage the storm had done
but yet today you could feel the heat from the morning sun.
things was bad and people's lives have been put on hold.
many left with out a home is what I have been told.

I ask why does this have to happen to good people like us.
the hurt, the anguish around town is all the buzz.
I walk back talking to my neighbors along the way.
Some i had seen but never talked to until this day.

we tried to make some kind of order, working side by side.
the it hit as i stood there with my eyes open wide.
as bad as all of this destruction might have appeared to be.
there was more good coming out of this than any one could see.

as the weeks and months have gone and past.
the friendships and closeness we build will always last.
the storm might have caused alot of damage to the outside looking on.
but the days of not knowing your neighbor. all that is gone.

the rebuilding is now all but done.
as the morning wakes to the rising sun.
our lives here are far more richer from that day.
was it a bad thing that happened? no is what i would have to say.
