Seems we've disconnected
From physical connections
With cell phones, blackberrys, Chirps, sidekicks,
Computers and the internet

We now express ourselves over key strokes
Using smiley faces, exclamations and other symbols
To get our point across

We no longer look into each others eyes, hold hands
Or exchange blushing smiles for memory's sake
Instead it's LUV YA, TTYL, LOL and BRB & BTW
Over the internet highway


See my space is now taken up by myspace
And I spend too much time addicted to this
With no place for physical interaction
Using smaller case and sometimes
upper case letters
Which tells you when I am SCREAMING


We use photos and generated graphics
As a means of expression to express our true feelings (Over the screen)


We create html codes
And url links to try to
Touch the other person
In their most intimate places
While taking the intimacy out of the whole conversation


When a message is sent
It is sent through one sector (viewed by the internet provider on your end)
Across a router (viewed by the ISP provider on their end)
Through cross cables and wires
With IM's and pings
To get each other's attention


Drawn into solitude
We are forgetting the most important factor of our existence and survival
The HUMAN CONNECTION


Is now disconnected by cell phones, blackberrys, chirps, sidekicks,
Computers and the internet
We use text messages, IMs, symbols and the www. (world wide web)
To say the things we should really be
Saying and/or doing in person


I miss my physical connections with you!
So text me or call me (if your (sidekick/blackberry is dead or your computer has crashed), and let me know
When you have time to
Get with me on a one on one basis
So we can begin to resume
What should be so natural for us
