Gas wars, pride of country, people worked together, MOST of all RESPECT for eachother.

I remember that when you pulled up to the pump a man in uniform ran out to pump it for you. It was .35 per gallon and if you got a fill up you received a six pack of glasses. Plus al lthe children in the car got a piece of candy. You could also go to the saturday movie and watch James Bond for .50..lol
OMG...my mother still has the glasses with the yellow flowers on them and I used to get suckers in the winter and popsicles in the summer. I even remember our gas attendants names...Gary and Butch. happy When I started driving they were the only gas attendants left in town and 2 years later the station closed. frown
