part of me says 'to each his own', but if this is a friend, i'd have to call them on it. if they didn't change, i might even have to reconsider our friendship.

I would call them out on it. Then I would wait for a reaction. If there is no reasoning or accountability, I would walk away. Who needs all of that drama?? I won't tolerate it.
