someone asked my opinion..But i dont know exactly what to tell this kid..anybody here?

Ok, so there's this girl I met recently. I know she had a crush on me and I started to like her as well. We've hung out a few times. The problem is, though, that she broke up with her ex-bf(high school sweetheart) several months ago, but I don't think she's fully over him, cause she still talks about him a lot, more so when we first started hanging out.

He broke up with her and it seems they were superclose and it was really hard on her, and they haven't spoken for months. They just started talking again recently though and it seems she hasn't been as willing to hang out with me as before. I still really like her but do you think it's worth pursuing or was I just kind of a rebound guy for her?

I've kinda come to the point where I can truly back away and say that if she's happy, then I'm happy, even if it's not with me. It's still tough though. We go to the same school, but her ex goes to school somewhere else. You think I should ask her where she stands?(I never told her I liked her, but I'm sure she gets the idea). or maybe just be friends with her for now. or just let her be and see what happens with her and her ex? I guess if you were in that position, long time ex-bf broke up with you, would you get better in time, never be over it, be open to new relationships, etc.

Maybe lay low a bit, see what happens with the ex for right now.
