what can he gain

body so small
so fragile....?
and he smiles
all the while
as he inflicts his
twisted fantasies
on an innocent ...
and the years go by ...
after a while
her tears fade
her eyes dulled,
decades older than her age
lifeless and sorrowful
in a face so unlined
so small and solemn ...
yet every now and then
a dim light flashes
like a candle
flickering in the wind
and her face raises
up yearning
quietly begging ...
for a loving
comforting ear
who will hear
her silent cries
and offer her
that which
was so brutally
and forcefully
torn from her
small ill used body
and spirit...
