All I hear all day now is that we might have the first black president this year,It seems to me that many are going to vote for Obama because he's black, and is as much racism as anything else You cannot control why another person may or may not vote for McCain or Obama. Instead, of focusing on the fact Obama is Black, let us focus on the issues that face our country and planet. Diplomacy Foreign Relations The rebirth of Global Peace Health Care The loss of this country's middle class Respecting other Nations Development of a Global Police Force to fight off Terrorism vs useless Military power Global Support for Space Exploration and Technology At present, I am on the fence for both McCain & Obama. |

All I hear all day now is that we might have the first black president this year,It seems to me that many are going to vote for Obama because he's black, and is as much racism as anything else IMO ![]() I feel differently about this issue. The way I see it, Blacks and others "of color" who support him see him as a way to better their lives. Whites who support him see it as a sign of profound change. Basically, the color of his skin is unimportant. The fact that it is different is the relevant point. Personally, I'm not particularly confident supporting him, but feel McCain is too far removed from the current issues. ![]() Well, it may be wishful thinking, but I think that narrow view is truly dying. It certainly needs too. Look at you, you supported Hillary. Forty years ago, maybe even more recently, no one would have supported a woman. Women were looked at as being 'token'. Good post! Made me actually think for a moment! ![]() |
