When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" When what we really wanna say is "it isn't all right, That hurt, you stupid idiot?" and then just ram them right back?????

I don't say 'it's alright'.....I just look at them, say uh huh and move on.....but I'm usually cranky at the grocery.

because it is alright. no one was killed. it's not the end of the world. accidents happen. AT LEAST they apologized. most people don't do that.
