I've never been on a "supervised date" and I don't really think you have much to worry about. Just give the kid a cell phone and check up on her every once in awhile. Also, make sure they're in a familiar, public, place.

Malls are great for this. No one's gonna try and take your kid in front of 100+ people. Most likely the boy won't "try anything" either.
