There are close to a billion Catholics who believe in God and evolution. That's ignoring the Jews and Muslims who believe in evolution and God and the millions of other Christians who believe in evolution and God.

On a more human note, I believe that people can be redeemed. I know that everyone makes mistakes and if someone learns from those mistakes, then who are we to judge? And ignoring that, we can never know the true situation, only the talking points. Real life is more complex than can be put into a short hit piece by a liberal writer.

So it wouldn't make a difference what companies a President or his wife own interest in! If one of these companies were say a Pharmaceutical company, Haliburton, or an Oil company that brings a conflict of interest to the decisions involved in the policies of said President, it should not matter?

Don't you think that the Spouse and her or his actions reflect on the character of the other? esp a President? Here John McCain shows less moral fortitude than Clinton ever thought about, and all the Republicans can say is I believe a person can overcome bad judgement or what a spouse does shouldn't matter? You do know Cindy McCain was addicted to drugs she stole from the charity she owns dont you? She would have faced Federal charges if she weren't so well connected and cut a deal with the DEA and U.S. Attorney's office that limited her punishment to financial restitution and enrollment in a diversion program, without any public disclosure.
The only reason it became public knowledge is because her and John attempted to fire the person who came clean about her illegal activity! When that person went to the press Cindy held an immediate press conference of her own and told a bleeding heart story to cushion the blow. They then paid the whistle blower $250,000 dollars to keep quiet about the truth!

Pope Benedict XVI has reached out to these groups to find common ground where possible.

I'm not a big fan of this pope, I though John Paul was better, but fair is fair.

As for McCain, the reason he is brought to account for things he has done in the past is because Barack Obama has.

Conservative pundits like Sean Hannity and others constantly attack Barack Obama on his character and past.

Things have even been fabricated about his life that are patently false, yet the right-wing press and radio continues to spew these lies and venom.

I wish it could be a clean campaign, without all these character attacks.

It should be about the issues.

But the conservative movement are the ones who started the character attacks, so if they're going to raise character questions about Obama, then it's only fair that questions also be raised about McCain as well.

The article is on Mr. McCain leaving a spouse on her death bed... The issue here was his "morals". Marital affairs...such as who left whom, and at what time...this is a B issue. Topic A should be our nation's future, our foriegn affairs not marital affairs, our health care & public education. Bill Clinton got a BJ...so what! look at where the economy, education, and foreign affairs where at the time. Heaven forbid I ever run for office, being an unmarried single mom I'd hate to have my morals judged based on my past relationships.

I agree with you that Carol McCain is still alive.

I don't know why she supports McCain after all he's done to her, but that's a mystery I suppose only Carol McCain knows the answer to.

McCain lived through a hell that most of us will never experience. The strongest person would be changed by the experience. McCain cheated on his wife 30 years ago. If you think the guy hasn't changed in those 30 years and if you think that you know the full story then there isn't really anything that anyone can say to change your mind...you obviously don't care what Carol McCain thinks about the subject.

Noone knows what happened behind closed doors between Carol and John McCain and apparently they have remained civil.I'm sure after 5 yrs of imprisonment for him and a life altering accident for her,personalities,mental health and priorities changed.some folks just fall out of love.Frankly I feel its none of anyones buisness and has nothing to do with the campaign.anyone who thinks any politician has perfect morals needs their head examined anyway.
