But, I do like the commercials "If you experience an erection lasting more than 4 hours, consult your physician" Ummm, yeah....consult your physician if it's a female physician...and tell her to bring some friends and pack a lunch More than 4 hrs. equals a life threatening emergency.

A 4+ hour erection from Viagra or Cialis is called priapism, and it can cause blood clotting and other problems in the penis that can ultimately lead to gangrene of the penis, so it is a very real emergency.

Guess some people have to learn the hard way, Winx. This isn't saying an erection that happens, is spent and then comes back, this is a constant 4+ hour erection. Oh well, live and learn.

If the man is on nitroglycerin for heart problems then he can't take Viagra or Cialis, can cause a severe drop in blood pressure and possible other problems including cardiac arrest. The doctors always warn them against this. They warn them too about the priapism thing, I haven't typed anything on anyone having one, but it is a possible side effect.

I have a few male friends that take high blood pressure medicine. Their doctors won't allow them to take Viagra. They are in their 40's. Off topic - talking to you reminded me of a previous conversation that we had. I still have forgotten to make that dermatologist appt. Rats. I needed to do that awhile back.
