So there are at least several of us on here who are or have been EMT's or Paramedics. What are some of the Oh Sh!t moments you have encountered in your journeys? My best is when we were dispatched to a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest outside a local bar. When we got there a deputy told us it was safe and escorted us over to the victim. After a minute or so I looked up to check on something and noticed all the officers on scene were behind their cars pointing their guns at the bar. When I asked whazzup the deputy told us the guy who tried to kill our patient was barricaded in the bar with a gun. I asked him why he said it was safe if the guy still had a gun, and he told me "If I said it is safe then it is safe, save the damn patient..." as he hides behind his car while we were totally exposed with nowhere to take cover until we could move the patient... Holy Sh!t Batman...

Called code3 to the fire station for a confirmed Core 0 (cardiac arrest)CPR in progress. While in route we get told to stand down, to code 2, no lights and sirens. We get there, woman in car,passenger side front seat, awake,alert, no distress, blodd pressure a little low, HAD a loss of consciousness. Ok Iv, atropine, O2 and go. Hopsital is 4 mins away.
After we drop her off in ER, we get the real story.
Mom and daughter in law are in car, going to go shopping, Mom crumps, son is there gives two quick breaths, check pulse, NO HEARTBEAT, drives to fire station at corner. They hit the dip in the road so hard, Mom slams into dashboard, and restarts heart. Edgewater. Colorado. circa 1989-1990
