Gut feelings are very powerful. They often tell us the things that our heart does not... The answer is usually in front of us but we are too distracted to see it.

The only thing to do once you make your decision is to live with it and let the chips fall where they may

I look at all the options and decide on the best thing after weighing different components.

If a faster action is needed I will do what comes to mind first.

Very good article Charles...thanks for sharing! biggrin I imagine that it's all very true indeed!

I actually do tend to over analyze things and have missed the boat doing it before. I usually end up going with what my gut response is anyway, so really need to cut out all the stressing. I try to when I recognize that I'm doing it. ohwell

So, since you cover both ends of the spectrum...do you find that you eventually come up with the same conclusion/decision? Or, is it different, once you've thought it to death?

Normally, it runs about 80/20...if i have time i will apply other thoughts and try and see things from different sides, mostly just for self assurance. a good 80% of the time though, my first reaction is normally the best, but it never hurts to put extra thought into any situation given the time to do so. There have been a few times, in thinking things through, i will change my mind, but it's rare.

That's generally my experience too. When I find myself thinking too much about something, I'm usually bound to make a mistake.

But, I do question myself at times, because I'm AM so reactive. Ugh. What's a girl to do.

I know! Go with her gut!!flowerforyou

When faced with a decision, what do you do?

Make an immediate choice, based on your gut feeling?

Weigh your options and choose which seems more reasonable/practical?

And...how do you feel about your decisions after you've made them?

It depends on the actual type of decision. If it's based on money or business, I'm very calculating. If it's based on romance, I'm very calculating and then I jump in, unless there's a really big red flag, such as, oh I dunno, Borderline Personality disorder, Antisocial personality disorder, Dissociative Identity disorder or something similar. If it's DID AKA MPD, I assess all personalities present, make a cost benefit analysis based on pain vs pleasure, and may jump in anyway, as long as there's a majority concensus and most of her personalities like mine.
