This is for my adopted son, Noah who is four years old.

He puts on big boy pants,
We do the pee pee dance,
His smile gleams across the room.

I am the world to him,
He is the world to me,
Whoever thought Down syndrome is all gloom?

He says his little prayers,
Blessings, I've certainly had my share,
To adopt this special little boy.

Grampa is blessed ten times each night,
He gives me such insight,
Sharing in his love and contagious joy.

He strums a mean guitar,
I know we'll both get far,
His ABILITY is stressed.

He says his A,B,C's,
He knows his 1, 2, 3's,
Though he may not always pass their tests.

He'll grow to be a man,
I'll teach him all I can,
Humbled as we grow.

One day he may teach you,
Simple things you forgot to do,
If he does, let me know.

Go slow, take your time,
Try again and again,
Don't lose your mind.

Noah's philosophy,
Be the best you can be,
Always remain kind.
