I have a friend who had an affair with this lady they both got divorced. The affair was wrong but since he got his divorce she has decided that she don't or can't see him anymore due to the shame but she is very interested in dating other men. He wants her to give them a chance and see how it goes because it is what they agreed to do in the very beginning. Should he walk and grant her wish or should she stay and keep her promise to him?

In my opinion, relationships that begin with lies and deception are doomed from the onset, for all parties involved. Sadly sometimes, there are even 'outside the couple' casualties that get brought into the mix as well!

In the first place a divorce shouldn't have happened but it did and sounds like to me she used him to get out of the divorce and once that was done she was done with him....move on and chalk it up as a lesson learned...

I think they should remain apart. I do however, hope the woman's ex husband and the guys ex wife hook up. It's only right.

She used him to get out of her other relationship; or the shame has made him nothing more than a rebound to her. In my opinion, he should walk away and never look back. If he is fortunate, he will learn from his mistakes and prevent it happening again. This is the kind of devastation that comes from cheating and lying.

I think that in a way they both used each other. You should never divcorce because of another person and assume that the grass is greener on the other side!
For her-she woke up and realized that she doesn't have to make a commitment and jump into the next fixed relationship. It is unfortunate that she promised to be in one with him-but it was the right decision for her.
For him-he needs to come to the same realization and open his horizons and spend some time healing and then move on to find the right person and not just one to comfort him through a divorce.

I hear so many stories of people breaking up with their spouse to be with someone else. I would never date, screw or otherwise someone who is married... once we're together how the hell would I know she would never do the same to me?

Once a cheater always a cheater. It's better to swing and do it together if you need extra activity. drinker
