Who do you guys think are better, im going with affliction as of now, best card out in a long time.

ufc is the original and is the standard to what all mma events should be measured to. not the other way around!!!

I agree. The UFC has been around longer and they know what they're doing when putting on an MMA show.

But it'll be interesting to see how Affliction is going to attempt to compete. Just because they have a solid card doesn't exactly mean it's going to be a solid show.

true, but you got look whos running it and you have to realize that the things ufc are demanding of the fighters from over seas are the reason the best of the best are not comeing to fight in the ufc, randy is hooking up and now thers a second show coming from affliction already approved

I would say either way the fans are the true winner. There are 2 great companies out there trying to give us some great fights.

Hopefully the July 19th ppv is a success, for Affliction's sake. Can't have your debut show be a bust and still expect to be a major player among all the MMA promotions, e.g. IFL.

Its tempting to say Affliction but then you realize that the UFC has St Pierre, Anderson Sylva, BJ Penn, Quinton Jackson, those belt holders beat anyone in Affliction at those weights.

Obviously Fedor is the baddest so Affliction wins the heavyweights.

The best thing is the competition between both is good for the sport and pillow fighting(some call it boxing)has a rough future!

Affliction does have card strength but I think it would be premature to suggest that they are in the UFC echelon just yet. Let's see if they have some staying power and more importantly, if they can land more than a few big name fighters.

What I do like about the competition between organizers is that with competition it might start to drive up the purse of some of the fighters. The UFC, to no one whose watched the sport, is not known for overpaying their fighters. If a show like Affliction can catch on and start to get traction, and start to pay fighters more (not to mention start things like medical, retirement--seriously) it might force the UFC to improve their pay or risk losing some of their stars to another organization.

The UFC has the stable right now. They could not get Fedor but in truth that might not be the worst thing. Who is Fedor going to fight in the UFC heavyweight division now that Randy is gone? Arlovski? Sylvia? Herring? He's already fighting Sylvia so we'll see.

OK, enough ranting from me. And please don't read the above paragraph as my being happy with Fedor not coming to the UFC--only that he's being paid more where he is now and that will, if the trend continues, begin to create some decisions for President White.
