A month and a half ago I was hit by drunk driver while I was OK my truck not so lucky.....
This left me with no choice but to use the city bus system for the first time in my life. I always considered buses for lowlifes and losers. I have since discovered I was wrong. I get my truck back this week but this experience has oppened my eyes to somethings big. One of those is, riding the bus is not as bad I thought. More importantly are these things, FINANCIALLY The money I would save by not having my truck. ......Truck payment..........$290.00 Per mon ......Gas....................$200.00 Per mon ......Ins....................$110.00 Per mon ......Maintenance............$50.00 Per mon Thats a SAVINGS $650.00 PER MON.... Do you realize what that would do for someones retainment plan per month? PHYSICALLY I have dropped 20lbs in a month by all the walking and bike riding. Love handles are going way, man boobies are gone, much more stamina. I am looking and feel great!!! And I guess its very noticeable according to propel I know MORALLY By not buy gas I am not giving money to the same people that are killing our troops and holding America hostage for oil. ENVIRONMENTALLY I guess ridding the buses helps. I realize that ownership of a car in ingrained into the American physicee, and giving up their car is not fof everybody but for me it is. So here is the question, even though not owning a auto is a FINANCIALLY, PHYSICALLY, MORALLY, ENVIRONMENTALLY correct thing for me to do. What would you women think of a guy who did not own a car? What would be your first impression of him? Would you date him? |

Oh, Ron, you don't want to ask that question.

they would naturally think that if he did not own a vehicle........he probably would just have a limo or something?

My first instinct would be..."What a loser!" But after reading this, it's good food for thought.

You pose a wonderful question filled with thought and care and elaboration.
If you lived in a city such as New York, I would NEVER assume a car would be part of your personal portfolio. I'm in the suburbs. I need a car just to get to a bus or train!! But, if I were with a man who could live without a car, and I have one, there is NO PROBLEM!!! Buses and trains are not always convenient or available, but as long as SOMEONE has a car for those times, who really cares? Very GOOD food for thought. Marry me!! Tee hee hee |

I have given this a lot thought and while this realizations was forced on me, its been an eye opener.
And ladies and gentlemen rather we all realize this or not, this question we all are facing and anyone who has ever been Europe knows what I am saying. That old thinking he has no car so he looser fundamentally must and will have to change for the survival of our country and every American.... The thought of me being considered an loser because I made the RIGHT decision really sucks but that is what expected... |
