so like maybe u have a list in your head of very important things..say age range/children/faith/morals/funnieness... if somebody say was jsut funny....would u give it a chance??? or say why bother.. what is the point of just dating... u meet somebody that has one of the five things that matter to you...so u should go on a date and waste time when it will probably never amount to anything.. or jsut wait for somebody that scores at least a 4/5.. idk  Wow,this is sooooooo scary! To answer your question, the point of dating is simple: TO HAVE FUN!!! If you really consider it a "Waste of time" to go out and have a good time enjoying someone else's company: * Enjoying a day at the beach * Going to a movie * Going to dinner * Going out for a few drinks * Exploring the likes and dislikes of someone you enjoy being around * This list can really go on a while Anyway, as I was saying; if you really consider all of the above a WASTE OF TIME then you deserve to spend the rest of your life finding that someone to plug into your idea of Mr Right while you over look all the other qualities that you forgot to put into your recipe of Mr Ho-Hum. I wish you luck though and I would say have fun; but I don't think you've considered that....   nooooo..I have lots of fun.... BUT it has crossed my mind that i would like more than just a good time...  i can have fun hanging with my children/friends/self.... once u realize that a person probably is not really what u r looking for...say...they are jsut fun..but dont match the other things... what the heck are u supposed to do.. or is all the things u want but not fun....what then?? But to be open and truthful with them is the best.. Tell me you don't think we click verse's NOT saying and let me figure out that,lol I have no problem speaking my mind with anyone I have met or went out with. But not very many can do that.

If you can REALLY have the SAME kind of fun hanging out with your Friends/Children/self, then you're right: why are you even looking? You've been married once, obviously some thing didn't work out. Since you have kids obviously you're looking for someone that is good with them, what happens in say 10 to 15 yrs when the kids are gone and you find out that you two bore the crap out of each other? You going to go look for someone else to meet up to a whole new list of criteria? But if you keep on hanging out with someone you have fun with and just keep going while it's good, who knows, maybe 25 years will go by and you'll realize that your recipe was a ridiculous idea from the start: Sounds that way to me

i dont need a man for entertainment... although companionship would be a good thing. after 20 years everybody is gonna get bored/irritated with another.. |

Sorry, my parents have been married over 50 years now: I'm looking for more than whatever tickles my fancy for the month when it comes to the woman of MY Dreams Brook, it doesn't sound like you're confused to me; it just sounds like you're just trying to wrap everything into a neat little package. Good luck, but that always send me running whenever I'm out with someone and they start their line of questioning like that... |

well, for me, personally, one of the things I value is someone who doesn't have kids. Because you both wind up looking after the kids, and when they're gone, you don't know who the other person is anymore. You spent all your time on those kids. |
