Dose a person's "friends" play any roll in you contacting or not contacting a person? Well, I don't contact anybody first -- but if I did, I would have to say that there's very little possibility that their friends list would have any impact on my decision. I would be contacting that person, not their friends, some (all?) of whom might not even really "know" the contactee at all. These things happen. |

IMO I think some people think getting viewed, or friends request, or emails is a popularity contest. For those of us who are a tad insecure, having a lot of friends on your profile can be intimidating, especially when those "friends" are the "beautiful" or "cool" people.
Again, IMO!

that's kind of disturbing when you think about the people that have 200+ friends on their list...what are they doing making a photo album? They are called "collectors" I just got an email from one, who was mad because I don't talk to her enough.. then she says "you look like you gained weight" Uhm, delete??? |

It doesn't bother me. Most people's friends on here really aren' their friends anyway...just acquaintances.Most don't even email each other. I have a few i email regularly. The rest are just sitting there staring back at me. I'm really asking this sincerely. Why do you keep them if they are not even acquaintances? Maybe I've been doing this all wrong. I delete if contact stops!  I like reading your posts, by the way!

[ Yes, it does, if a guy has a bunch of scantilly clad women as their friends, I do not even bother with him. Sorry but it's true. I have to go along with this. It might be an assumption on my part, but I don't it's a huge leap. |

I actually had this conversation with a male friend the other day ... and yes, I was intimidated by his 'friends' photos - I felt like a fish out of water in their company and would not have emailed him first. Silly, maybe - but sometimes insecurity and/or self-preservation takes over. We had a laugh about it after the fact, but goes to show how misleading or prohibitive things like photos (even profile pics) can be in getting to know the 'real' person.

I was just contacted by a lady on here and her opening line was "By the pictures of "your friends" I may not be your type" and I have had similar comments from other ladies.... My "friends" are people I have met and talk too sometimes only once or twice and some of them I talk to a lot. So here is my question: Dose a person's "friends" play any roll in you contacting or not contacting a person? I think for me it's more in the Testimonials i have. I been told that i seem to be well liked a few times because of all the Testimonials i have. |
