I hear people who've cheated on their relationships claim to LOVE the one they cheated with.

The question is...how can they possibly respect someone who would sleep with another man or womans partner?

Is LOVE supposed to be an excuse all to validate or rationalize their actions, or can they really love someone like this?

love can cover many situations and relationships. It is defined by the one using the word. We love our children, we love our parents, maybe we love our jobs, our houses our cars, our friends; but, those are all different than loving our partner. Often, the listener gets confused about what another person's definition of love is. jmo

I wonder how often it's an excuse to try to make what they do seem less harsh...I could not fight it, I'm in LOVE!

or if they believe what they are saying, though in my mind it is really more of a, I love the way they make me feel...thing.
