They stay there as long as they have their immigration papers in order .

That would depend on how far said spouse-from-another-country was along with his or her immigration paperwork.

If the person had filed (and was granted) naturalization status ("Green Cards" as they're known here in the States) while married, then the person could more-than-likely stay.

If the person had filed for and was granted full citizenship, then said person could DEFINITELY stay.

If the person DIDN'T apply for or was NOT granted any naturalization or citizenship, then more-than-likely not.

Naturalization and citizenship are completely different from a green card or a work permit .

green cards take forever to get and are expensive if he doesnt have his then he is **** out of luck and has to go back to where he came from once the papers are signed..hell sometimes even if married they are lucky to be able to stay in the other country.

In my judgment he will not go back because he has already received a divorce and a divorce in any country takes time and therefore he has been in the country for a somewhat a long enough time to have his papres in order .

A lot of scams start that way, some for just citizenship. Others lead to money out of your own pocket to "help" the other party. Just saying be careful with what you do.flowerforyou
