thank you nd it my dam webcam that makes it look so dark The best web camera I've found for the money is the Quickcam STX. I use it on my 3D scanner, but in my case, I trash the ball it comes with and have my own mounting mechanism. Image quality under any lighting is top notch. $38.45 at http://www.antonline.com/
