lmao that was just funny....

btw how are you ever going to explain the burn mark?

JaceKnows's photo
Mon 06/16/08 01:36 AM
Well, I don't really have to "explain" it to anyone if I don't want to... My co-manager Mark and I run this place pretty much by ourselves, and our direct boss is here rarely, and when she IS her, she's only here for an hour or two and then gone. She has four other hotels to "monitor" and doesn't pay much mind to us...

That being said, the burn mark looks kinda funny, cause it's sorta squared off where the packet mark is from the non-dairy creamer packet. It's near the coffee pot, and we're always spilling stuff over there, anyway, so it might get wiped up over the course of time. Right now, however, I have it soaking in a puddle of our best ammonia-based floor cleaner. I figure that can't hurt the steel, and if it works, it works!

Personally... if you're that bad off, you probably shouldn't own cats in the first place... and if you can't afford the deposit for them. . . . <shrug> That's probably mean of me to say, that's why I'm saying it here. I don't think she *wants* to hear that right now....

it's always something... have you noticed

I have noticed. I sometimes wonder what's wrong with me...lol

I posted in her thread in a manner of helpful, good luck. I dunno.. I feel bad for some people, often wish I could do more... but I was raised to do things myself with a LOT of "forced independence". I think being the oldest child had something to do with it, too..lol

I'm the oldest also and did not get away with getting C's in school... I took care of the younger ones and the house... We all want to sit down and have time out when overwhelmed but we can't let every single thing overwhelm us, otherwise we never stop to enjoy those few good bones that are thrown to us every here and there...

I know. When I was 9, my mom had a 7 year old, 5 year old, and 1 year old to take care of. In summer I was out the door at 8:00 AM, off to the ballfield, and not back home till 9:00 PM. My mom never wondered where I was...

If my 9 year old tried that now, his picture would be up on the news, Amber Alert issued.. lol

Function of the changing times, too. He doesn't go anywhere without "his bike helmet. I used to sometimes not even wear SHOES on my bike..lol

There's so much joy in the world in the little things... the chocolate chip cookie... the first sip of morning coffee (without non-dairy creamer!).... the wind in your hair.... the smell of new baby (not the backside!)... the kisses from a puppy... Gosh, I really do think a lot of us overlook those little things... especially when "bad" things seem to be happening to us a lot.

"The gods are in the details." - Mies van der Rohe

I firmly believe in that statement.

oh I know I had to check in but I was gone most of the day but had to come in for dinner then out again until dark...

non-dairy creamer... lmao classic...

Those small things are what keeps us from giving up... Life is full of small things, kindnesses, a good conversation, a lucky moment, a smile, a hug, so many things... We just forget in this big fast paced world...

We do, and I admit I'm sometimes guilty of it... but rarely. Even when bad things happen, I'm always trying to find a way out. As I tell my son all the time (and he tells me, too), "Find the good.". In any situation, there is good to be found. That's what keeps me hanging on. (=
