Dear diary, I wasn't on much tonite. Been busy. On my routine schedule- grabbed my second round trip load to peoria. After a tire change and a few issues finally got rollin. Wanted a cup of coffee so I wheeled into M&H to grab a cup of joe. Old tom was runnin the register as usual but seemed quite upset. Said he needed duct tape. I asked why he needed duct tape. Seems a bunch of punk ass kids threw a brick through the rear window of his new monte carlo. And its supposed to rain the next two days. Its midnite, nothings open, and he couldn't find anything to cover the smashed window. I mean tom is a retiree who's 70 years old, living on fixed income, working the graveyard shift at a convenience store to make supplemental ends meet. He's never had an ill word for anyone. He's never hurt anyone. And this is how he gets treated and respected by the spoiled pieces of sh!t teenagers in the neighborhood. A crying shame. I was sickened. So I went to my semi, grabbed a roll of trailer liner, and cut it to fit. Then grabbed a roll of heavy sealing tape because duct tape is worthless when its wet, and I sealed it all up high and dry. Tom comes out and starts crying. Says he can't believe the kindness of a stranger. I told him I made a promise to do right by my god and I could not believe the cowardess of the child who did this senseless vandalism. And for some reason my coffee just tastes better tonite. Love, sharing, and caring makes it taste better.

Here's the iowa flood update west to east. Des moines intentionally opened the dam above town to save the dam. They are intentionally flooding the downtown area to avoid a worse disaster of total washout. 87 homes and businesses will be flooded. People are scrambling and sandbagging.
