You could send the Mariners 6 Griffey Jr.s all in their prime and it would not help us one *%*^($ bit. We truly suck this year. No, it's worse than that--help me out here.

That is true I just see the mariners biggest problem is with all the teams getting young blood and what not the mariners are almost trying to make a team out of vetrans and some weak talent... But, from the draft the Mariners look like they might be on track for getting back into the winners column in the next few seasons...
Granted I'm a Red Sox fan so it basically contradicts what i've said b/c minus a few exceptions that is a team that as a group of individuals really isn't that good but together they work....

You know, I have always understood why Griffey Jr. left Seattle to go to Cincinnatti. I mean, it was just "right" that he went and played for the team that his father played for. But it just went downhill for him. He has had nagging injury after nagging injury since he went to the Reds, which really sucks for him cause what he has done since he has been in a Reds uniform has diminished his "greatness" just a little bit. Back in the 90's people talked about him breaking Hank's mark (which Bonds now owns) and Griffey was on track to be able to do it. It really is weird how when he went to the Reds, his health and career just fell apart. I like the guy. Always have and will always feel that he is one of the best to have played the game. He will go to the Hall.....no doubt about it. Just wish his career had not faltered like it has. I hope he does go somewhere where he can contribute and get a ring. That is all that is missing for him.

The thing here for people like me who live in (or near) Seattle is that there is almost nothing KG Jr. can do to lose favor in this town. He was back here last season for a game and the ovation was insane. When A-Rod comes back--ummm, not so much. But there is a reason for this and one that will never be forgotten by Seattle fans. EVERY Seattle Mariner fan remembers where they were when Griffey ran the bases to beat the Yankees--back in 95. He'll always be shown love for that run and many more moements.

A lot of Seattle fans believe he is still at the very least and honorary member of the Mariners. He has a few detractors here but not many. The Mariners that year were amazing---Randy Johnson's pitching--Griffs run--it was all amazing.

Yes and no. We would never have kept A-Rod--he did not like Seattle--and Seattle did not have the money for that couple hundred million that he was looking for. But I do agree with you on some players. Seattle, since moving to Safeco and getting out of that god-forsaken Kingdome has had some talent--but we still SUCK right now. It is really depressing up here right now because the Sonics are leaving (at this point it's just a matter of if--not when) and the Seahawks are, well--the Seahawks. I love them but they've made me go bald prematurely.
