Enjoy the parents while you have them, because you never know what you have until it is gone. The funny thing is when you are young you don't want to be like the parents at all. As you get older you see that they were advising you from their experience. Even later you realize you have grown into your parents and realize how much they taught you.

I found a way to move out anyway. It was time for me to be independent.

Seriously, Kirk, as you go grow older, you appreciate your parents more. My parents are 70 yrs. old. I cherish the time I have left with them. I dread when they have to go.

Always told my son, "Don't like my ways, make your own, UNDER your roof."

Quit complaining & make it on your own, you think it is so easy, just seting back, UNDER HIS roof.

((((Doug))))flowerforyou 'ere smokin

Yep, I lost my Mother a little over a year ago. Hardest time of my life. She had gotten me a book three weeks before she passed called "One More Day", about spending one more day with a loved one that had passed on...a man got to spend one more day with his Mother that had passed in this book.

In the very first words of that book it said something like "You feel like your very foundation is shattered when you lose one of your parents, like the best friends you ever had are now gone." So very, very true.

Cherish every moment with them...and all of your loved ones. flowerforyou

My dad was an abusive drunk and when I was young I praed for GOD to take him.
Then I grew up and could have killed him if I wanted to.
But then I saw an old mental damaged man who was weak and also knowing that if it wasn't for him, I would not have been born. So live and let live and get the hell away from anyone who surpresses your life. He will ALWAYS be HIM...drinker
