I have a studio apartment also, turn off and unplug everything when i leave, not home often, only buy things on sale at the grocery store, and get everything i can from walmart, target or the dollar store. As far as gas, i go only in one direction to and from work, try not to make too many back and forth errands up and down the beltway. I refuse to not have my bills paid.
