Lightning travels through metal plumbing very well thank you. And lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun. The amperage (heat) is what kills you, not the voltage. 2 amps will kill you. A normal lightning strike has 2 million amps. Lightning also travels well through metal window frames in homes too. Lightning takes the path of least resistance. Lightning is thoroughly powerful and amazing. 4 out of 5 people directly struck by lightning survive the strike. I'm a survivor.

I was on the six floor of an office building that was struck by lightening many years ago. The elevator was stuck for many hours. Around my desk were walls made of windows with horizontal metal strips for decoration. I saw some of the current from the lightening travel on those metal strips. Somehow it reached my desk. I had one hand on a typewriter and was talking on the phone. I felt the current go up my arms. The hair on my arms stood straight up and my arms felt strange for awhile. Then all of the electric in the building died. This all happened in seconds. |
