how many people have them and are they common? what are opinions of people who do have them? and can you have sex again with a new partner? i worked in a gu clinic genital herpes is getting more common, you can pass them on easier if you have a outbreak, but you can actually pass them on if you havnt got a outbreak. they cant be cured, and its a nasty unpleasant std to have. i certainly wouldnt have sex with someone with this std. out breaks can flare up at anytime, more so if your run down or ill. i know someone who has them, and its pretty much certain she will pass them onto her new partner, as you catch them through skin to skin contact so no protection will prevent you from this std. |

Genital herpes and coldsores are the same virus, only different locations. It's not a big deal, but something I would avoid. they are NOT the same virus... cold sores are a different stain, and you can ONLY get them if when your mother was pregnant with them she was exposed to the virus.. Don't give out medical advise unless you are trained please... yes shes right. genital herpes is type 2. |

also if you get a outbreak, you need to be treated within 24 hours, else basically they cant help your syptoms and get rid of the outbreak quicker.
im sure your aware of this, but you MUST tell future partners, as protection wont stop you getting this, just by skin to skin contact this is transmitted. |
