though the window looks so crystal clear
it streaks of years gone past
as we try to clean it
it still remains stained glass

when your looking through the pane
the people are distorted
the lives they lead,the stories told
the evening news reported

facades and make-up hide the truth
a clown to life's circus daze
the smile,the smoke and mirrors
all fit to one's amaze

when the show is over
they file out one by one
another life is over
another one's begun...
