Is that the example I want to set for my kids???? Mine are 15 and 17. They don't live with me, but I am certainly not to live with someone I don't intend to marry, like already set the date kind of thing.
And since that ain't going to happen, its not an issue. My ex doesn't play that way either.

Are kids 6 and 10 too young to understand adults living together?

If someone wanted to move in with you, but made the statement that he/she needed to "downplay" it to their children because of their age (for awhile)...would you think it was for that reason or because he/she wanted to downplay it with the ex?


Kids that age may need it explained to them, but it sounds more like s/he wants a roomate than a lover/partner. Most kids can handle the truth, and whether we think it or not, can see right through the lies.

a sad showing of our times where adults would subject their kids to a live in bf/gf. I really do not see that as beneficial to a childs well being
